Homemade Nightvision For Air Rifles

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has made their own nightvision set up for their air rifle. I only have £80-£100 to spend, I have a lamp so could I put a ir filter on that? I've seen it done but just not sure what I need. Could someone please make a list of everything I would need, it only needs to be for up to 40 possibly 45 yards, anything that might help would be much appreciated, many thanks, ATB Dan

if is a good 12v lamp, with a thicker IR pass filter you'll be suprised how much illiminasion you will get.(thinner one will be more visable at sourse, and...not to close to the bulb lol its plastic filtering and the thinner ones melt)

i used a maglight, no mods beyond a 6v battery on 4.8v krypton bulb and filtered it..got 50 yards easy.

camera wise get some thing that sort of 0.01 or 0.001 lux. anny thing les (e.g.0.1lux will be amaizing crap even with the filter removed)

and if your into removing the ir block filters off the sencor, the prosess is very easy, a hobby knife, one shaped like a sqaure chisel, gently push on a corner and see if it lifts of, be carefull not to push through and scratch the sencor cover...if it dont come off, forget about the solder iron way, all i've read and found says 'ehhh fooook!! broke it.............'

'does any body?''

''left hand shooters''...

lool...sorry but theres no real libry sytem to a forum search, quite often you'll find what you want under some totaly bogus topic tittle...search for the words is a bit better, some times.
