Insulation On Kennel

Just ordered new kennel block run and shed altogether as one, just wondering what some of you use for insulation on the kennels, wether you just throw hay down as a bed or have you got the side insulated n if so with what,

Iv looked at buying the proper dog kennel insulation but there not haveing my pants down for insulation like that just cause it says for dog!!!!

 

Any tips would be great advice

Make a cavity in the kennel and fill it with straw or polystyrene chips. Simple and cheap!

As long as there out the draft there coat keeps then warm enough but i just throw straw in there bed in the cold weather

Side walls fitted with polystyrene and then covered with hardboard.

the sleeping compartment in my kennel is lined with kingspan then over boarded with thin ply it keeps the heat in very well.

Used polystyrene myself but managed to get some plastic sheets used to line the walls of showers etc off the site I was working on and lined the walls with that.

If it's cold I put a coat on mine too only when it's below zero

Celotex on the walls and shredded paper in a raised bed works for my dogs

I used 30mm sheets of polystyrene cut to fit in between shed framework then boarded with 10mm ply. The insulation keeps the shed cool in summer as well as warm in winter.
