gosling1960 191
Spend as much time as you can with them, they will settle and it will be worth it in the long run. Quote Link to post
joe14 98
cant realy say but its not forever so just grin and bare it lol! If she isnt drawing blood or locking on the shes probably playing just too rough lol! Also if you are cautious around her or scared she will sense it and more likley to do it more. Make sure they're always full up on meat, let them out for a run about and let them tire out before you start picking them up. I usually just feed bits of meat from my fingers if your brave lol. The one 8,482
About a fortnight you should be over the worst of it , feed them them handle them with full bellys there less likely to bite you Quote Link to post
Wxm 1,638
you just have to give them time pal, more you can handle them the better Quote Link to post
The one 8,482
If you get them from a good breeder they shouldn't be nipping , if folk are breeding there ferrets they should be doing the hard work of handling them 1 Quote Link to post

Jamie m 668
I've had some Jill's and I couldn't fathom where I was going wrong , handled a bucket load every week . And every opportunity it got would turn and try get hold : ( and the older it got the more it tryed , then one day after a very long trying I got a collar on the bitch and entered her into a burrow and that was that like a different creature could not believe it , Quote Link to post
mollski 16
Well ive only had them 3 weeks but handle them every day,the lads not to bad,but the girl is like a viper ,just got to give it time I think thanks guys Quote Link to post
northern lad 2,292
Common sense I know....but don't fall into handling the hob more because hes easier to handle, concentrate more on the jill, she will settle down eventually ATB with em 1 Quote Link to post
mollski 16
OK yes funny you should say that I always pick the hob up first 90% of the time his ok,the jill bites me all the time, but I will just have to put up with it and see if she gets to like me,every time I go down to the court I think here we go bet that little bitch jill is going to bite the shyt out of me again I will just have to work with them until they get used to me thanks again Quote Link to post
dunkers87 5
My kits are exactly the same hobs are fine but gills tend to be nipping more. But theres one jill who is proper butch biggest out the lot even bigger than the hobs. Now she actually draws blood. they get handled regularly but she seems to be a right f@@ker. Quote Link to post
