Hw100 Fac Vs Air Ranger Fac

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm currently trying to decide on which FAC air rifle to go for and was looking at these 2. I've read some very poor reviews on the hw100 though saying that the accuracy is quite bad once they're updated.

Does anyone have any experience with these on an FAC?

Or what do you have experience of?

Many thanks

Hi mate, a little bit late seeing this topic, but I've also been trying to decide on which FAC gun to get recently.

I was going to go for an AA 410 / 5 10, or fx cyclone, both excellent rifles, but after a lot of reading and research I found out about the Webley fx2000, (also badged as the RWS Excalibre, or Logun Axsor).

These are made in Sweden by FX , a top rated maker, and were designed as FAC rated, so have the power turned down for the UK.

They are tuned back up very simply by an external adjuster, which will take it to around 25 ft/lb, without any other tinkering, but can be got up higher with a little more work.

I bought mine recently, already FAC, running at 24 ft lb, and fitted a new Hawke sport scope.

After zeroing at 40 yds, to allow for closer shots or further out without too much aim adjustment, it was grouping within 1/2" at 50 yds.

I didnt have time to test it out further, but on its first outing this week I downed 7 rabbits, all clean head shots through and through.

So there you are, Its an older model of classic design but beautifully built, and engineered,

with a lovely carved stock. They stopped making them some years ago but mine looks like its just come out of the box, I'm over the moon with it.

There are a lot of newer style fancy designs out now, by good makers, but I (and many others) believe the FX2000 is as good or better than the high end priced guns.

Regards Ian.
