FUJI 17,122
hows he getting on with the one eye mate? He's getting there Chid..not had him lamping just letting him build his confidence up through the day,he's been knocking bigger stuff over since his mishap so I'm sure he will adapt no problem,he's a tough bugger, been through the wars but he wears his heart on his sleeve on every single thing he runs,he hasn't got an array of gears but the one he has he never lets up on it lol..I always said from a pup I'd be amazed if he made old bones but we will see? He's 5 in March so I suppose another few seasons would be a bonus, that leg he broke as a young dog is often seen raised off the floor after a shift but next day he's grand,no doubt at some stage it will become more troublesome but until then we will just send him to the frontline into battle and what will be will be buddy..he owes us nothing, been a good fun dog so whenever he starts showing us he's had enough he will just spend his days out and about with myself..Atb Andy 15 Quote Link to post

jcm 2,327
Don dog this afternoon.. Having a roll .. I'm not a fan of collie curs due to seeing a lot of bad ones one only the one good one which was a 3/4 bred and possibly the best dog iv ever seen on big game. All the other ones were loopy and by far too brainy picking there runs etc and they were half x, do you think it's down to the collie used or the up bringing? By the way your dog looks a very nice type and one day I may possibly get a collie cur if I see a few good ones as I realy like pure collies and have seen some very smart ones at that which I would of loved to use to make a decent rabbiting lurcher. FUJI 17,122
There are plenty of good collie curs buddy just most aint on here lol..mine is far from a world beater BUT it wont stalk, choose his runs, run half hearted etc..ask lads who have seen it work, its got more drive than a greyhound lol on ANYTHING with a pulse..hes just a lurcher x collie and hes not the first of this type ive owned and the others were much the same..breeding is a lottery at the best of times and ive been called everything under the sun and then some for doing things the wsy I have..have I been lucky with my breeding program? Well id like to think theres been a wee bit more than just luck involved but who knows? Select carefully parents that have something to offer that the other may lack and you've a chance of producing something that your looking for? Theres good and bad in all types..a good cur x imo has a lot to offer. 6 Quote Link to post
