Tikka T3 0
hello dont hesitate on the 204 ,super calibre .remington tipped rounds paying around £17 for box of twenty range wise a lot of factors to take on board your competance .rifle your using .wind scope loads of factors involved .but certainly capable for fox work.my 204 makes my .222 stays in the cabinate if im out after foxy its the right tool for the job very accurate round was shooting off bipod at paper at 160 yds and grouping was about the size of a two pence peace ,all the lads local to me that are using this cal cant fault it . only thing is rounds are getting a little difficult to obtain good luck with your choice. tikka t3 Quote Link to post

Guest Frank
Now then, this is from my own experince only and im not putting the caliber down. I had the .204 for 6 months. Over here, ammo for it is very expensive and the particular rifle i had, did not group the 40gr v max very well, infact it was very bad, 4 inch groups I got a box of the 32 gr v.max and they grouped around a inch and a half at 100yds, nowt to right home about. Also, sometimes, when i shot at a fox, with these 32 gr, it would make a splash wound and a second shot had to be taken At the time, 2 years ago, they were the only to types of ammo that were available for it. I swaped the dam thing for the .223 and never looked back after that, LOTS of ammo to choose from, even over here, dead cheap, accurate and does what the .204 does, but with better results ect. Now, if you were to load for the .204, then prehaps a good bullet combo ect could be obtained. As reloading is not allowed over here as yet, i had to make do with what i had at the time. Personally, to reload the .223, would be far more cheaper and more benificial, in my veiw. Frank. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
I dont understand where all these surface splashes folk have had, come from? i,m into probarbly 150 foxes with mine, and i,ve never had a surface splash.....exactly the opposite, just a nasty exit wound, and i use a 32 grain v max homeload. Most factory guns wont shoot the 40 grain, as its too heavy for factory twists [1 in 12"] but i,m very surprised yours wouldn,t group the 32,s either Frank. I dont use anything else for fox, and have cut them in half at 300 yards with it, what more do you need? i have a 6mmbr, shortly a .308, and a .223, but i always use the .204, its so flat, it makes shooting at night a cinch. Guest Frank
Fair play to you baldie, for making the .204 work. I said i grouped 1 & a half inches or their abouts at 100, that to most folk, is acceptable, but not to me. I also used factory ammo, not reloads and did point out, with home loads, the thing would shoot fine. I was just giving my experinces on the matter baldie, no harm intended. All the best, Frank. Tikka T3 0
hello 101 i use a t8 on mine .yes a crack is heard but you wont shut up a centre fire .but its not much noisier than a 12 gauge going off really as frank said his experiences of the calibre is far different from my findings, every fox that ive had has looked very ill after ,as bald one said it basically cuts them in half ,well thats my findings too and as he also said very flat shooting.and it does not knacker barrels . t3 Quote Link to post
