Gaz_1989 9,539
Gsd are up in the top ten of popular and bred dogs ... Along side the border collie, a gsd dog would be as easy to find as any border collie to put over a greyhound or a lurcher ? Yet there not bred in numbers even by the puppy farmers.. I hear stories about them from 25-30 yrs ago...where are they now...are they not being produced for a reason? There probably not as popular because they don't look well hard. Nor do collie greys or saluki greys but plenty of them about What ya on about man...my collie x pup is as hard a f**k looking and a right nasty b*****d....... PICT0245.JPG PLEASE DONT LET THAT DOG NEAR YOUR KIDS! IT IS A HUNTING DOG AND CAN SAVAGE A CHILD AT ANY TIME!!! 1 Quote Link to post

bird 9,970
Buck is a fine dog and he is still developing only about 13months old I think , I'd hav him in my yard no bother stop slating ppls dogs cause remember you don't know it all even if you think you do No doubt about it....Buck is a fine and imposing looking specimen.... I don't think he's a year old but at 97lbs and 27" he's far too big and heavy for my liking...but at the end of the day it's each t their own... I knew a lad way back who owned a capable - if stamina lacking 1/4 GSD 3/4 Grey.....and also saw a first x that couldn't catch it's own tail.... Many boast of these dogs being capable of super canine feats...if so, why aren't they more popular...??? It's all gone very quiet on the GSD, Malamute, Husky front since Mr Battans left the room....everyone must be missing their closet opening guru.... true Col, he is big , prob to big really , and prob be better if he was lighter size dog. He had few rabbits last season in the lamp, never going to be great rabbit dog, but will get few. I suppose if you try to compare to other xs out there ,he will be crap, but i wont, whats the point.? i wanted to try somthing differnt,to what ive worked before, so as he is only 11 months old (pup) dont know what he is like really. Ive always said if it (dont) work out for what ever reason, i wont get another 1x lurcher, i will go for a lurcher to lurcher bred type dog, as lots of lads seem to do really well with type of dogs, and seen these my self over the years, that what i will do. But regards the bloke who put the post regards this x, i carnt say alot as mine just a pup maybe next year might no more what they about.? But either way there big dogs, maybe not as big as my fecker lol, but big+heavy lurcher 2 Quote Link to post

paulsmithy83 567
Tbh some aint as bad as you would think, I run with a dog that gsd x he 29tts -90 lb up till about 14 month the dog wasnt the quickest and you could tell wasnt developed by 18 month the dog looked totally different. Catches rabbits with ease. Best bag 19 rabs and found 2 road kill deer funny a few was caught on the golf course that night none were easy rabs tbh so that tells you something. Overall works well doesn't like teeth tho but seemed to be obsessed with deer. he aint a bad dog stamina is mental lamp him from 8 at night till 6 in morning if you want you ain't blowing him up. Regardless what hes Ran on. hes caught Hares at night but needs that extra stride for day Altho the stamina is there just needs that little extra pace. I won't blow smoke up no dogs arse but piss me off when people comment on shit they have never seen. No theories people only facts if you gonna dis a cross or dog!!!!!!!! 5 Quote Link to post
kranky 507
I've been looking for a while now for a gsd x greyhound ..I know there is a few on here who have them ... I was wondering if I breed some would there be anyone want this cross other than me If you're breeding for yourself, just choose your pup and cull the rest. These aren't the best dogs for pet homes. I've seen this breeding work, back in the day, they're quicker than they look and took all quarry. Why aren't there more GSD x's about nowadays? I don't know. Why are there so many bull x's about nowadays? I don't know. The problem is, popularity of certain breeds isn't dictated by experienced dog men with 1st hand experience of a breed, it's dictated by demand. The demand is created by peoples perceptions. Go into any pub and mention motorcross bikes and they'll be a group of people who had a cousin/mate/neighbour/uncle with a Honda CR500 and they'll tell stories of 150MPH wheelies. Mention catapults and the same people will have stories of shooting through both sides of a bus and killing deer with a Black Widow. Mention Lurchers and the bull X will be the dog of choice for these people. Whilst those of us that know, will ignore the ludicrous claims and exaggerations, people who have no experience will believe what they're told and continue to repeat the stories. I could breed litter after litter of poor quality bull X's and sell them all. But if I bred one litter of exceptional Deerhound X's, I'd struggle to place them in proper working homes. 5 Quote Link to post

Feck me mate - you've no room to talk of anyone dissing a dog....you musta forgotten the post you wrote totally slagging Ray's Bryn dog a few months ago....It was probably the worst assassination of any dog I have ever read on here....go on mate stick it back up so we can all read it...it was brutal and totally needless and personal...you even took it down yourself after 10 minutes...even you musta been embarrassed by it...I know I was....bit rich you suggestion no one should dis a cross or dog.... I certainly haven't read anything but opinions on this topic and certainly not the level of disrespect you showed Ray a couple of months ago that's for sure.... And I certainly haven't commented on anything I haven't seen.... 1 Quote Link to post
