I don't like the mountmaster either.

Better save some more money and buy a bit better scope. You will never regret that!

i have good experiences with the hawke panorama. And looked at the varmint sf thats also a good scope! (i like SF more than AO)

Also the optisan/MTC scopes are very good for the money. I have a optisan mamba but also looked through a viper, mamba lite, cobra, they all seem very clear.

ON what rifle is de scope being mounted?

I would never put anything less than above scopes at a rimfire or airgun. I personally don't think the scopes above are good enough for long range shooting with a centrefire. Then im looking in the zeiss/swarovski range. Just because the image is so clear and everyting is perfect at these scopes you can absolutely focus at taking the shot. But again that personal, i see allot of guys shooting with mtc at centrefires and they all seem to shoot perfect!

Hey,

Just look in the rifle topic. YOu willl see lots of mtc scopes. So i guess they do fine at a centrefire

Will do,

the mtc scopes have been tested using a .338 lapua so our .223s and 243s will be nothing against it. roy lupton has one one one of his rifles on fieldsport channel youtube so don't let the price put you off it they were 1000 quid people would have more respect for them.

You're right! Roy lupton used one for a long time. And shot everything with it.

If you don't want to spent to much money at a scope i would go with mtc.

i would go with the viper or the 2.5-10x50 mamba i own.

I am looking at the taipan for my 223, but it will sit on my 6.5x55 for a few month, while I save up for a zeiss/schmit long term for that one,

Being cynical, but I don't think there's a 'best cheap scope' ...

You either spend to get some decent glass for quality & consistency, or you buy cheap and live with the problems.

If its a centre fire, its just false economy putting on a cheap scope. Save up a bit longer & buy a quality one. You won't regret it.

Same goes for binos.
