I only seen it on youtube, but i reckon that fenton dog could be up there :toast::toast::toast:

You think he,s up for stud ???????????

Hopefully not, too much dog for most to handle... Deer populations would be destroyed in a matter of weeks with his offspring running around.

Be like Armageddon for deer

If you had the best little all round bitch in your kennel and there was no Ban etc etc.

What Dog would you put over her ? with a view to having a good all round dog for all eventualities day and night ?

I suppose it depends what type she was, if she lacked anything, what land you're running etc.

seen few good dogs over the years, most were lurcher to lurcher bred, that would take all quarry. One lad had colliex grey x salukix grey 27in dog Tip, that was goog on hares +rabbits+ foxes, Jim dog Snipe Brill lamping dog. Another was Tug 1x staffx grey 26in brill on things that bite back, few lads on here seen that dog work .And my own dog Bryn great rabbit dog day+ night, but suppose there loads of dogs out there just as good Tomo had good dogs, david lloyd , trigger2 good young dog all good, but suppose loads lads out there that dont go on+ use the net just as good.

There was a dog called mutely owned by a muka that I would rate as the best all time dog as In could catch anything day or night, was there the day he broke his kneck on the third stag. Hit a fallen tree at 8 ish . Machine took all types teeth, bags of 30+ rabs and spin a strong hare. Very good dog.

If was picking a dog for coursing I'd say luke very good strong runner don't think I seen him miss.

If picking dog just for out and out lamping I'd prob say either that muka dog or my brother in laws field dog leny very good around dog. Not much ever got away one best catch to run ratio I've probly ever seen on the beam

My pick of general mooching/ferreting probly be a dog that richard price owned called red ,failed fen dog but by dam he was perfect with the ferrets. Great mark catch any Bolter never disturb nets or never took them in the net .only if bolted. Always knew where to put his self and with out fail knew which holes they coming out of. Put alot of gear up hunted up also. And worked a long net superbly which is a real art to see a mutt do

They be my pick :)

Bird - I wasn't talking about the net mate.

Paul - great post mate!

Vin - if I had a dog like that, I'd be looking at sires that' were pretty closely related.

thats what i meant Jai , people who (never) used the net , prob got dogs out there that we not have heard about, like that salukix and that staffx i said on the thread, great dogs
