reilly1 9
I do a bit of rough shooting, ferreting. Thinking of getting a dog don't want your usual gundog or terrier. Looking for something on the smaller side whippet etc. Any advice? wouldn't mind starting doing a bit on the lamp as well. Quote Link to post

tsteve9999 456
It depends on how good a trainer you are imo. I love mooching with the dog and gun but I'd never be able to call mine a gundog. He'll retrieve anything I shoot and has a good nose so puts stuff up well, but if it's something that runs it's no good me expecting him to just sit back and let me shoot it. and If I was to take him pigeon shooting he'd have the hide over every time I let the gun off too. But as I say that's down to me rather than him. he suits me as he is and I enjoy the mooch. Quote Link to post
