Gaoler 83
Hello All, I thinking of buying a new springer in .177 for rabbit and vermin shooting. Air Arms Pro Sport or one of the Weihrauch springer models? Any advice welcome Thanks John... Quote Link to post
Andy_c 210
Air arms prosport out the box superb the he's are also brilliant but work better with even just a relube or a tune if I bought again louve I say it I'd buy a prosport but I'd get .22 however my opinion it has to be your choice if you can try and get to a shop and handle/shoulder the guns you have in mind maybe shoot them if they have a range however love my 97kt wood stage 2 sfs thumbhole stock atb Andy 1 Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Weihrauch HW97KT for me. especially good after a proper tune wouldn't mind a L/H TX200HC tho. .22 is better for hunting IMO 1 Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
Tx doesn't need tuning straight from the box, hw's are rough, some are a million miles from what they should and can be . 1 Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
I have both .the aa is a bit better built, but for shooting rabbits 97k has to win . Quote Link to post
The one 8,463
I just rate air arms Quote Link to post
gonetoearth 5,144
Had a go of air arms at the cla very impresive accurate and smooth The wierhrauct. Although always reliable and accurate always seemed heavy to me. Ive gone for bsa ultra Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
HW77 or HW97. With the TX200HC I have all three. The TX200HC .177 I have is a blisteringly accurate rifle, set in some of the nicest walnut but, I'm thoroughly a Weihrauch man at heart. Through and through. No other air rifle series offers so many amazing opportunities for turning them into individual customised air rifles. Weihrauch rifles are not a million miles from where they should be. It's the springs that lets them down mostly these days; but, they do benefit from a bit of skilled TLC and a quality tuning kit. The HW77 I have is the finest most accurate.22 spring rifle I've ever owned. My .177 HW97K is an equal partner to it. And I've owned a lot of air rifles in the past. 5 Quote Link to post
Craig83 52
No Brainer really .... Weihrauch Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
In my experience there's not really too much difference between either of the two 'out of the box'. They're both first class and only you can decide which one's better. The one that feels right for you is the one you should go for. Both guns may benefit from a little bit of fettling but either should shoot pretty well as they are. Edited July 30, 2013 by andyfr1968 1 Quote Link to post
Alan Holmes 11
I had the same dilema last year and after shouldering the two I went with the HW97. I absolutely love it and so glad I went back to shooting a springer rather than a pcp! Just got a permision at the weekend so going to smash some bunny's tonight. good luck with your choice and let us know what you decide! 2 Quote Link to post
