Mustard. 83 Posted July 29, 2013 Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 Well folks,anyone got any wise words for me,im going to get a few quail for the table.I never kept any birds before,im not doing anyting serious just a bit of crack with my young lad to be honest...Which are the best for eating? r judd 13 Posted July 29, 2013 Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 ye there the ones more commonly known as japs females have speckled chest males a brownish red lay at 6 - 8 week try n get the jumbo strain there bigger get an incubator and hatch your own save eggs fo ten days and incubate fo 18 days rear fo 6 week n repeat dont pay more than 3 quid fo your birds or 1pound fo a doz eggs you can even pickle the eggs great little hobby rear on chick crum with alittle kibbled maze as they matchure job done 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

patterdalejoel 669 Posted July 29, 2013 Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 courtnix is species really, like you can get bobwhite quail and chinese painted quail. then in courtnix u get different varieties, such as italian which are a lighter colour or tuxedo, which have a white bib. but you want courtnix, or you can get jumbo courtnix which are obviously bigger but i wouldnt bother, just to start id get some eggs and hatch em. if you buy them you want them as chicks or it isnt worth doing lol as it only takes 6 weeks till they grow. good luck. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
