the_stig 6,614 Posted July 31, 2013 Report Share Posted July 31, 2013 if you buy the right tools its half the battle -- your pound a pack brushes are shite--I`ve got brushes here that cost 30-40 quid each ... search out your local dulux/ crown decorator centre ----sort your self some decent kit and look after it, it will last a life time forget anything from wilkos or wickes ..Stig Ive Oil Brushes Ive Had Yrs , And You Will Know What I Mean When I Say There "Worked In" . . Money Can't Buy Them Only Working Them In Over Time Gets Them Perfect For Cutting Woodwork In . got a bucket full here -- I couldn't get on with the vapour boxes ..I`ve still got 2 scrapers a putty knife and half a dozen kettles that I had when I was 16 ... 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

You lads are the first for many ayear who wear their brushes down to a decent cutting in brush, and let them live happily in water, like me. I convert the emulsion brushes once they are worn and getting too stiff, go for oil, and then end up with a nice point. I Think The Old School Tradesman Where A League Ahead Off Us Lads Today , Look At How The Tools Have Advanced In All Trades . . Especially Id Say For Joiners Who Are Fukced Without Power Tools Which Isn't Too Say There Inferior Just Brought Up Today In An Enviroment Where The Job Needs Finished Yesterday Society , Which Has Taken Away A Bit Off The Skill Off The Past !
