But more than anything, why breed from what is little more than a pup? You only have to go on Preloved, for example, to see how many litters of lurchers there are out there, and how many people find it hard to get them sold to decent homes. 1 Quote Link to post

Once they've started to chase rabbits, even if they haven't caught one, there still classed as workers and can be very aggressive after! My lurcher is from great showing stock, but when it see out pet rabbit, Fluffy, you can see him licking his lips, and I'm sure this has come from his dad chasing a rabbit once. Anyway we've called in a dog trainer/behaviourist so hopefully we can cure this. lol@moonlighter Quote Link to post
Wxm 1,638 Posted July 29, 2013 Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 hello ive got a whippet grey she has done so well at the shows this yr iam thinking of breeding her as shes just come in season, shes 11 months old and won loads of trophys for racing and best in the show, a lad i met at the bath and western show has an hancock dog which is doing well also,hes more tried and tested being 17 months old but we both think they will make excellant working pups between them so watch this space as if we go ahead this wednesday the knot should be tied pal dont listen to the pisstakers, the only problem with breeding a young bitch is that she might be a little tight so my advise would be get some ky on your fingers and break her in pal, save you loads of hassle aswell when it comes to delivering the pup too. less chance of a c section Any pics of the mum and dad pal Quote Link to post
