johnny boy68 11,726
Your entitled to see your kids under law. The Children Act states the opinion of the child MUST be valued, your kids will want to see their dad, the Act also states that the welfare of the child is paramount, that means it is in their best interests to have a strong, supportive bond with their father. Fathers have a lot more rights than they know about, go down to SS and state if there are issues seeing the kids, you want to set up a formal, regular contact at a contact centre. You also can use SS to support you. I know this is not ideal as you'll be mostly under supervision but seriously grit your teeth, smile and bare it. Don't miss an appointment and if she trys to go down the legal route she hasn't a leg to stand on. This is all based on if she is giving them malicious information or outright lying about you being a bad dad for whatever reasons. Don't let her wind you up and do not shout/be confrontational or get mad at any point. Always smile, be polite and there can be no possible reason she can stop you, plus it will look very good on you if she tried to up the anti and go for sole custody. +1 Social services will help you out in seeing your kids as astral said, don't think you'll be on some watch list because you may have to have supervised access, its just the first step in getting the proper contact with your kids. Social services deal with all sorts of people and a case like this will be nothing new to them and if your ex refuses then she could find herself being investigated by SS for not complying. Hope you get it sorted.
twobob 1,497
Some woman would rather risk the happieness of their child just to get one over on their ex... It's completely wrong, the laws an ass in situations like this, there are as many shite mothers as there are shite fathers yet the law is always in their favour.. I hope you can get it resolved mate, not just for yourself but your kids as well.. Atb I know it's extreme, but when I hear some stories related to the way some women act when it comes to divorce/seperation, I can genuinely understand how some perfectly normal blokes resort to murder. My divorce didn't involve kids....apart from her trying to get me to pay maintenance for a kid that wasn't even mine! but all the other money stuff that went on and her refusal to just draw a line under it all got me thinking along them lines, bizarre when I think about it now but if I could have popped her off and knew I would get away with it I wouldn't have given it a second thought! I even had it planned in my head how I could do it!!!! how bad is that! Back to this case though, my mrs works in that field, and even blokes that have abused their partners aren't stopped from seeing their kids.....even blokes that have (non-sexually) abused their kids aren't!!! It's a very very extreme case when the law stops you seeing your own kids! Keep fighting for it, you'll find the money some how. Once you've missed out on those years you'll never get them back and you'll always regret it! you,ve made my day the thing i had kids with had me the same way my plan was to go to the coast somewhere with cliffs point to something out to sea and nudge her
