lapin2008 1,587
Surely if that makes court you could sue for loss of work, waste of your time and stress?? Can that be done....:-) Always surprises me that this never happens. especially with cases like this when the lads not even broken the law. He should be giving it the whole post traumatic stress... loss of work... anything to make an example of them.. or just go to the press, they love a story about how crap the police are

Ten days off work in total. I got £40 back (travel expense for crown court only)................

Sounds like you just got awarded some of the costs, I was referring to the lad ferreting suing for arresting him for a pretend crime. And if it was a complete load of bollocks that they arrested you for or falsified something, then why not sue? Providing the information about this guy ferreting is correct and they dont have anything else on him, it is the same as being arrested for gardening lol or any other non crime. lapin2008 1,587
The same applies for stuff like the RSPCA type raids where lads end up loosing dogs for 1 year plus while they 'investigate' if the dogs have been used in some wildlife crime only to have a half starved dog returned to them down the line when it gets thrown out of court. I think a lot of the time the lads are so relieved they got a not guilty that they leave it at that but If the police and the rspca had to answer for their actions through the courts/media they might start to look at how they carry on. not directed at anyone in particular, just seem to see a lot of examples of authorities using the law to suit their own agendas when in a free country they are also answerable.
