foresterj 1,096
Still cant see how training a dog could be wrong, first Lurcher i had took him out as a pup to learn the robes with older men and older dogs i was 15 at the time and the dog turned out to be a non retreiving hard mouthed lazy hunting also ran hound, had him for 14 years tho, second dog took to the books NEVER worked him with other dogs and never looked back Really thought the way i do things was a lot more common how wrong i was, not one replie about Base line blood the whole point in this thread, just shocked abuse at the thought of exspecting more from a canine than reacting to a moving target, oh well time to jog on i think i know when im beat HAPPY HUNTING all!!!!!! Firstly I was not aware that anyone had said that training a dog was wrong nor are the feats you boast of really that difficult to achieve IF a man thought them necessary skills that they wanted in THEIR dog, baseline is a matter of choice and not essential to achieve this level of obedience, if you can train a dog you can train a dog, regardless of breed.secondly if any individual wants no more from their animal than a point and slip type surely that is wholly up to them.finally the issue of training dogs wasn't what was wrong with this topic, your arrogant egotistical and condescending manner is what put peoples backs up combined with your narrow minded approach that yours is the only correct way, despite any evidence to corroborate this nor of how you go about achieving this then your writings are merely hot air.oh aye HONEY has an e in it. 9 Quote Link to post

I'd have thought there were enough clues.... 50yrs experience and only 34yrs old and me having a go at the Bullbreeds but have three pics of them in my signature!! No need to have a go at my 'Thick as f*ck' bully bitch though! thats just getting personal! As for the litter, I'm sure if you look far enough back (about 5yrs?) you'll proabably be able to find the thread. It was an accidental breeding by my darling daughter letting them out together., by the time we realised she was in pup she was only about a week from dropping. Thats the one and only litter I had/seen. So me being a peddler - No... Messer - most definately! 1 Quote Link to post

2Painless2btrue 11
You can't get heavier than mine.... Got to be the heaviest baseline Lurchers out there.... I get you man, Mine are trained exactly the same way. Took me f*cking ages to break them to deer mind, everytime I walked past them with a dog on a lead they'd run off... Not great for training I can tell you!! Luckily, I persisted and now not only do I have a dog that can walk right past deer offlead, we now also have tame deer! Did the same with the local Badger population too, Think I got a video of it on youtube somewhere.... I'll see if I can find it. Result on both counts! You'll probably have to put up with a lot of abuse and critical comments from some of the fools on here, they only f*ck about with them point and slip bullcross types anyway. Try too stick to your guns and enlighten them, God knows I've tried enough times.... Yeah but he's broke his to rabbits....catchable or uncatchable???? Either way he still expects them to catch rabbits...yours are schooled not to chase deer or badgers....full stop...not just deer or badgers you deem non productive to chase....???? Hardly the training feat of the year mate....is it....??? Your spot on though there's some right fukn fools on here.... yea ent there, if you can train a springer to pull up then you are one fool if you cant train any dog to do the same, how much go one then do you think it would take for the same springer to nail a Rabbit oh yea im the one talking shitI've often wondered why Springers aren't used more in Lurcher breeding. A leggy specimen can hunt, find, flush and retrieve all game. A cross with a sighthound would just improve on a pretty good package! I agree about the steady ness aspect, even a well trained Springer will peg game and a lapse in attention would have it coursing like a good in! 6 months to get it going (hunting) 3 years to stop it, they say. You get a Hell of a kick when a hard hunting Spaniel points, then flushes game for YOU, not himself! Quote Link to post
