milknhony 5
you start us of with yours my introduction to hunting came from a first x alsation lab when i was aged 14 on waste ground in Manor Park east London a place known as the whippets as i understand there was a flapping trap there pre or maybe during the war, confirmation from a learned person would be so great, at that time i had no idea i carried the hunting gene but on taking said dog Rex out for pm walks it became apparrant the dog had an addiction for working up and finding Hedgehogs and i just loved it, would take a bread basket to put them in and loved to whatch him scenting up, one time while over there daytime he struck a line marking a bush with a whole new posture and something made a sound in said bush, after all these years can still remember the way it made me jangle, the dog pushed in and a cock Pheasant broke with a noise that i had never heard before i shit me self the dog shat himself and addiction to hunting with dogs was born! ps caught a ferret there some time later, moved with the great exodus to essex begged my first Lurcher and the rest as they say is a long learning curve!!!!! I would never work a dog in the summer.....and it appears you would....good job we're all different.... Quote Link to post
