A Little Older And Wiser.

Recommended Posts

Well things are going well with these pups and if i'm honest there a pleasure to have around. I'm not saying to much because the teenage stage is just around the corner but there very biddable at the moment. walking to heal and coming to the horn when I lose them in the bracken playing hide and seek.

Looking good mate, how old will they be when you start your season?? Mine are going to be to young!

They will only be 7 months at the start but I will take them take them out with my older hounds towards the end . We'll see how they do before we enter with the main pack

There beagles mate.......... they're this years so won't make a start but might make a little appearance just to get used to it all. I'm not expecting or asking anything of them just yet but just hope they reach there full potential.

Lovley looking dogs mate how do u find them to train?

There completely different to terriers and lurchers and take a lot of repetition . I find there drive to hunt is strong it's just a matter of harnessing that drive and switching them on to the right things with a level of control if that makes any sense. In the short time I've been into them I've seen people come and go it aint easy but a whip, a horn, plenty of patience, a love for hounds and a good mentor helps. Oh yeah you've got to be relatively fit . hope that helps

bloody hell , .........they make our local beagle pack look like whippets,...........lol

they some beast of beagles and very strong,............they would be better strain for the fox drag and I suppose the ones what take on the hare drag are smaller strain for the right reasons.......good luck .....
