davedavedave 69
Hi, I am looking at looking to investing in a set of tripod trigger sticks as currently I am getting over a broken arm. I have looked at the Primos ones which look good but pricey and found these on the Swillington website. I emailed them and they said they weren't Primos but from a firm called Akah from Germany but I cant find any more details on them via Google so wondered if anyone on here any info please?. porkycrook 466
Dave. For me the first link you put up worked but the second one doesn't. I like the sticks but before i spent out on i would want to see either the sticks or the specification of the sticks. ATVB Roger Quote Link to post
davedavedave 69
Hi Roger, Thanks for replying and I agree mate but cant find any details of them on the Internet hence my post. I've even email Akah themselves in both English and German but no response. Its really odd as normally if you want to find details about stuff on the Internet you can but with these sticks I've drawn a big fat blank. atb, Dave. Quote Link to post
Manco 16
I think I may be able to help here; I bought a Primos Trigger Stick a few months ago and have had opportunities to use it on hunting trips several times. I rate the product very highly. I have used it with centre fire, rimfire, pcps, and springers and it has worked well with each type of gun. With springers the technique needs to be adapted slightly. It works for me when I rest the back of the wrist of my supporting hand on the 'V' rest and then rest my rifle on the bony part of the base of my palm. What I think is great about the trigger stick design is: each leg automatically adjusts to the height of the terrain - so shooting over sloping ground is no problem. you can easily adjust the height of the rest with a single press of the trigger. The tripod design gives more stability than a tall bipod when shooting on open ground (I have a tall bipod too). The only drawback I can thing of is you can't use it in the prone position; even fully closed the legs are too tall. From the photo you submitted, the design of the Akah sticks looks to be virtually identical to the Primos. If the build quality is good you should be OK with it. Quote Link to post
woodcote1 88
Try making your own sticks. Much cheaper and lighter. Quote Link to post
davedavedave 69
Hi Manco, Thanks for your reply. I have tried them and am well chuffed with them as it means I can shoot despite my arm. In fact they are a more stable platform with one good arm than whatever I could achieve before with 2 good arms :-) I can just about get my bad arm onto the stock now which means I am rock steady. Also resting my rifle on them means I can wait in ambush for ages too. You summary pretty much describes what I've found and I wondering if they are the same product albeit with a different badge maybe and at a more reasonable price? atb, Dave. Quote Link to post
