splitcane 5
Exactly the same thought had occurred to me, Skot. At 40m, the pellet drop over a meter from a sub-12 .22 is enough to make it worth knowing whether it's 40m or 41m. What I used to use when zeroing and finding aiming points: 50m tape measure from muzzle/mod. What I use now both for this and for hunting: laser finder from eye. But which does ChairGun use? 1 Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
doesnt matter about that 1m.. as you will be shooting to see where everything is first any way. whats your first responce to a bird landing over there? tisnt oh allow 1.37 meters to the barrel tip, or ooo 14 inch too scope turrets plus the 5 cm and 1/2 inch here there and over by the watsit.. you look at it and think 40 yards there... then put the gun up to your shoulder. (40 yard from your head is the instant assesment is it not? the one you used from birth till now). i think si's right..its tecnically from the ret in the scope. but for practability when you actualy shooting its from your very fluent 'head' why complicate it. try this on the range, measuring tape, measure out, then put the barrel tip on that zero yard mark, then the scope center then your head.. have a look at the pellet drop and chose for your self which you wish to use. (i say use your 'head' as the zero yard because after a few days nights out in the same week, you get tired...as you do the last thing you need is to be left with the '0.713V devious divided by confusion of fact and multiply it by terty 9 lol..its there look..your head saw it and knows its there..simples). edit..its all spacial awareness when your actualy shooting.. after you've zero'd you check out at measured distances..so 'tecnicaly' for airgun stuff it doesnt actualy matter past 'for course of conversasion'... once you start thinking 'right its thirty yatds to the rabbit, i have to take a half step back cuz my scope center if there and then add on 1/4 dot space or was it the barrel tip tip, ahh yeh so half a step forward minus a full step back..was my step a yard or 4 inch shoert'..etc etc... yu fubared if you get stuck into that stuff lolol............ 'your walking down the lane'..rabbits 30 yard...or what ever, yu lift n shoot it from 'your feet' that your stood on and with the head your eyes are in...for zero'ing..magicaly placeing your self on some other line other than your feet? hmm...try it out and see what happens, dunt matter what the others say, thats the woffle n chit chat side of things you read about in the mags lol. try it out....then you'll know what 'your' doing...if it works? yeayyyyy..works for you. (if you go long shooting....listen to it..try it...diferent kettle of fish all together). (( your scope see's from the turrets' tecnically, the pellet drops from your barrel tip, but no matter where your muzzle is the scopes 'measuring from the ret inbetween the turrets' but after all that in use you perceive it from your feet and your eyes..as in from where 'you are'.))
