Stupid enough to put a picture up of a rabbit hanging out of a dogs mouth?......   You mean a perfectly natural.....not to mention....totally LEGAL activity.....   Sounds to me....you need to open

did the word, sanctuary, not give you a clue as to the type of people that would frequent that site?

Utterly ridiculous response Sally, a passive aggressive paragraph that included no debate or reasoning what so ever, and had the subtle ring that we hunting folk don't give two shits about our animals

I buy my feed from a local greyhound trust great people always ask about my lurchers and are very pro great bunch of people.

I think its pretty sad to see a rescue organisation denying a breed there heritage.

Whether this post is approved or not, if its not then it says a lot.

I have volunteered with Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary for the last five years.

We pick up the detritus from the greyhound racing and working lurcher community, for those who think nothing better than to sit their and slag us off and think we're all a bunch of c*nts and arseholes ask yourself if it wasn't for all those good people out there what would happen to all the dogs when they were dumped, we didn't ask any of you to come and join our little community and we were very nice to RM when he came and put those posts us, of course he wasn't stupid enough to post photo's with dead rabbits hanging out his dogs mouth.

We put you under moderation because our site is predominantly used for finding homes for the dogs that you all class as shit, you know the ones that won't chase, the ones that some of you guys dump because they don't do the job you bought them for, we do the same for the greyhounds who aren't fast enough or who are too old to race, we don't have time to moderate a discussion which on a forum of animal lovers, do discuss the pro's and cons of hunting is just shit stirring in my eyes.

You have your forum here to discuss hunting, we have our forum to discuss rescue.

You slag us off for not allowing ex racing greyhounds free run, can I point out that some of the dogs we get in our care are so traumatised from their past that to let them offlead would be irresponsible, especially immediately as they have zero recall, thats not an attribute that they arrive with from the industry, they also have injuries that they have picked up over the years.

Eventually a lot of greyhounds do get free run and they can do it without killing anything and they have just as much fun I can assure you.

What you forgot to post up when you were slagging us off, is all the threads where the loving owners of retired greyhounds and abandoned lurchers look for good offlead area's to allow their dogs to get a bit of free exercise, all the walks that are arranged so the dogs can spend time with their own type.

You will notice if you read through this forum that we have never come here and slagged you off, we haven't even slagged THL off on our forum, because each to their own.

We will not be validating anyone from here, because as I say we don't have time to have a debate about the pro's and con's of hunting, we only have time to find homes for the 20 dogs in our care and the 20 waiting to come in before they die.

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

If I'm forced to leave this site by the bad element on here, can I join your site? Genuine question :)

All greyhounds MUST be muzzled in public....any smaller dog is potential prey,

My mate races Greyhounds he has a NGRC trainers licence,

i sometimes go down the shore with him to give them a run, the dogs are muzzled.

These dogs are in training, and have been told by the owner they would kill a small dog,

we have to make sure even when muzzled that there are no dogs about.

the NGRC rules requires all greyhounds to be muzzled when in public and in training, this does not apply to privately owned greyhounds

Sounds to me....you need to open your eyes a bit.....

Meat comes from animals.....not packets in the supermarket.....

'Killing' is totally natural....and when done right...... is completely humane....

Yes....you get the bad ones in our sport..... but judging everybody by the same book cover...... is out of touch....

Ive just spent £6000 on a dog that will never work again......

Are you going to tell me i dont care about animal welfare?....

All animals deserve respect.....from a rabbit to a roe.....

You and "your people" (as somebody on the other forum described us).....need to think about the wider picture.....

Its not all fluffy bunnies and bright flowers.....

Utterly ridiculous response Sally, a passive aggressive paragraph that included no debate or reasoning what so ever, and had the subtle ring that we hunting folk don't give two shits about our animals as long as theres BLOOD! We do, we just follow with a dogs natural instinct and allow it to do under supervision a legal activity.

These dogs were bred to run and evolved to hunt for their own food, prey drive is there with any dog, just to varying degrees. With proper training they will know the difference between a lamb/chicken and a wild bunny and won't chase what you call them off. They smart, they can learn even if they have been on the track for years. I have also worked for a rescue centre and I KNOW you can train recall into ex racers 99% of the time.

Legs to thin to run properly, utterly ridiculous you telling me fallow deer should keep to trot because they have skinny legs?? f**k I have skinny legs better get the electric scooter out.

I'll be honest here guys, I'm kinda siding with Sally here. Not with her way of thinking, I think she's a total fruit cake but in the whole scenario. She has her wee forum rescuing greyhounds and lurchers minding her own beeswax with the rest of the loonies, harming no one. One of our guys puts a photo up that they don't like and they frown on it talking loonie talk. Before they know it their wee site is besieged with us guys prompting her to come on here to defend what they are doing. Ok, talking a heap load of shite but she never asked for us to buy into her thinking. She might be an anti but are all antis bad?

it,s law I n,ire all greyhounds have to be muzzled or any cross with g,h blood in them been sent back home many a time for not having a muzzle on the dog.

So theoretically speaking if he had posted the picture in the "anything goes" sub forum it wouldve been ok? My gripe is thart I was put on mod watch for a simple statement I didnt get personel unlike that whatsherface with her insinuations. That is slanderous and I would like to think that she was placed on mod watch too?

If there were no hunting dogs or racing greyhounds then people like Sally and her friends would be out saving hedge hogs or something they have to be anti something

That's true mate but she wasn't bothering us till we bothered her.
