What Age To Start

Recommended Posts

My 8 month old patterdale pup had some small rats when he was 6 months old and he's loved killing them ever since he also tries following my other working terrier when he goes through small tunnels on walks but I have heard that the age to start them is around 12+ months depending on how mature the pup is I haven't got much experience myself so just going off what people have told me

Yes! They had fun. But we never had many rats mostl up to 20 and the complet litter running around. It is so funny.

You could have said 4 litters & I'd still say your talking utter donkeys piss !!! 8 weeks & killing rats my arse :-)

That you got rats in your arse is your problem and i am not intrested in what is living in your arse.

So please keep it for your self!

Have to agree with alimac, I used to do ALOT of ratting and I've seen good, experienced, adult ratting dogs take stick off some rats, an 8-10 week old pup? No, sorry just don't buy that.

Yep your right, my bad, but on the flip side it isn't a place for functional story telling either, actually hold on, it's summer time!! of course it's silly season, my bad again.

Would you say it's recommended to work a 8 week old puppy on rats before its even had its first jabs? Or is it more like your not bothered?
