bobcullen79 1,495
my late father was one of the biggest hoarders ive ever known I think we`re a dying breed mate. There used to be a lot more around I`m sure. Ive fond memories as a boy mooching round family and friends hoarding sheds. Great fun, finding all these weird and unusual things, not having a clue what they were for but interested all the same. Im not even sure every household has a junk drawer in the kitchen any more.. Born Hunter 17,817
Sometimes I see something that I think will be usefull but as a rule if it's not got a job it goes. I hate the attitude "we'll keep it because it might come in use, just put it over there". "CRAP, CRAP AND MORE FECKING CRAP! BIN IT, BURN IT OR FECKING USE IT!" Wullz 408
I had to build a screen to cover the bottom of my deck that a built...to hide all the scrap wood that I stashed under there..... Also had to build shelves in the kennel to stash extra gear from the shed....then theres the large metal garden box/shed thing.....full as well.....best not mention the loft.....

Seemingly useful stuff can be kept but if in time it's not been used then it needs to go. That said, is there any better childhood memory than ferreting through my Grandpas stable and sheds for all manor of crap. That was awesome.
OldTrapCollector 377
The "it might come in useful one day" syndrome is the worse one, i have suffered for years, symptoms include, large sheds that you are unable to enter due to them being jammed to the gunnels with useful stuff , The inability to pass a skip without the overwhelming urge to jump in and have a root about, coming back from the local refuse tip with more in the car than you went with. Guilty as charged .... OTC
