BIG G wheton machine 1,594
what would happen In nature to the old the sick and the weak. they get eaten or just suffer til they die. survival of the fittest. I don't have a problem with culling the old, sick or the weak at the end of the day the dogs were kept to do a hard job to begin with so if they cant do the job anymore then its up to the owner what they do. id rther a dog pts than get passed from pillar to post or used as a breeding machine to line the pockets of some louse bag peddler kept in terrible conditions. we owe it to the dogs to make sure this never happens 3 Quote Link to post
Banter 1,751
It doesnt matter if the dogs are working dogs or pets, they become part of the family.A dog is for life not for getting rid of when its served its/your purpose!. That dog would have been completely loyal to you so the least you can do is to repay that loyalty!!.A dog can have a quality life when its served your purpose because it deserves one. I can understand pts an animal thats terminally poorly and in distress, but your way is just cold, callous and cruel. You sir are clearly not a dog lover, you just use them then have them killed. Im in no way looking for an argument but i think your just plain wrong. think what ya like your entitled to your opinion. At the end of the day the bitch got retired to a good home Quote Link to post

unlacedgecko 1,466
My dogs are with me for life. When and how that life ends depends of the dog, and luck. I have 1 old retired dog. I won't have a yard full of shit machines. Quote Link to post
Rat face 1,655
i think it depends on the kind of person you are end of the day, i used to love walking out with the old dog when he was well past his digging days, was strange one day your walking over the moor with a big strong lump of a dog then in a blink of a eye hes a small, gray, grumpy old cu#t snapping at the pups. 1 Quote Link to post

milliken 791
this debate could go on and on as for my views on it i had a whippet dog who grafted very hard for me the first 6 years of his life before he ended up with a heart mumur and fluid in his lungs the vet advised me to put him on meds the rest his life or put him to sleep this dog lived for his work there was no way i was keeping him penned up for him to watch me take the others out hunting so i desided i would take him out lamping a few nights then get him pts but in truth i work him flat out for 3 more seasons after this with out much bother till one that dog looked at me and i just knew it was the right thing to do and had him put to sleep robert Quote Link to post

brazer 287
I must admit im a bit heartless when it comes to a dog reaching its sale buy date (no pun intended ) it simple i dont have the room for a load pensioners but i didnt have the heart to get this old bitch pts .I just happen to have an anti next door whos poked her head over the fence on more than one occasion overheard me talking and before i could get saying f**k off. Well penny now lives next door permanent home that's very good of your neighbour. One thing though don't be complaining if your neighbours dog barks at 4am 1 Quote Link to post
