the_stig 6,614 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 just found a note the mrs left stuck to the French windows----if your not going melton cant get in the garden out with the dogs or in the workshop--------------the bedroom needs painting are you going mate?? im rained off work so was gonna go a ride up........ melton? no mate I`ve started on a pine chest of drawers now wax and a polish --radio on,coffee machine on I`m sorted for a few hours I know one thing stig, if I was retired, I wouldn't be rubbing down a set of drawers lol like I said on another thread --I`d hate not to turn a profit ... I don't mind doing a bit got a big workshop in the garden -- I take the lap top in stick the radio on --keeps me busy I do 8 antique fairs a year brings in a wage for doing something I enjoy ---got one next Monday with a bit of luck I`ll make enough to pay for my daughter to get through her last year at uni..I`m a painter and decorator by trade so the bedroom I could knock out in a few hours.. I don't think I ever want to properly retire, but it would be nice to 'retire' but still do a bit of something I enjoy for myself and to hopefully turn over a tidy second income. I can please myself --I`m up and about early with the terriers anyway so its nice to get a few other bits done ..melton market on a tues auction viewing on a Friday --auction on saturday---greyhound bags the odd race meeting I can soon fill my week up ...first 6 months I just dossed on the settee watching day time tele soon gets boring ..once I`ve sorted my gear for the fishing comp I`ll be doing a bit of course fishing ---and trying to master shore fishing ...----------------------and its still pissing down here Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I used to have a stall next to a book dealer on the local flea market --he buys a lot of his books off car boots and charity shops he showed me a book that he bought for 25p some paintings by a japanese artist worth 100 quid he often used to sell £25 and £35 books and he was always busy on a good he was taking 500 quid ... at the book fairs he could take a few grand ....he knew all his books aswell people used to say have you got this book --yes 4th book along bottom self ----------- he hated it when it rained Edited July 23, 2013 by the_stig 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
