baw 4,360
Tell em to stay in fecking London. In fact. . . . tell all of the city folk to just stay fecking put! Spot on mate! I had a rant on FB the other day about 'Escape to the country' showing a couple from the midlands looking to move here to Pembs and buy a load properties to holiday let. It's because of people like that that no-one can afford to get on the property ladder round here these days, half the bloody houses are empty in the winter in some places.. Same in the small picturesque towns in Scotland. Houses empty most of the year, locals children having to move away, can't afford to buy the few that come up.

Astral 253
I can't afford to live in the Forest of Dean where I grew up, not unless I pick one of the refurb flats on the outskirts of Gloucester industrial estate anyway. Certainly couldn't afford to live near my parents so I moved out a long time ago and have been city hopping ever since. I LOVE the Forest of Dean its my homeland but the sad truth is the only way I'll afford to buy a house is if my parents died and left me theirs! God forbid. So now I've spent the past few years renting in cheap bedsits but even that drains everything I earn. I'm about to move to Lincoln as I've been up there before so have friends and possible work, but its so much cheaper than Bmth which has all of a sudden doubled in rent prices. So off I get shifted again... I have a dream to build my own house one day too, f**k knows if that will ever happen but I hold on to the dream! One thing is for sure, the lovely cottages in the Forest are now mostly owned as holiday lets. Which pisses me off as I WANTED to live in one!

paulus 26
True story this, The last village i lived in before here, the old rectory came up for sale, now being a rectory, as you would expect it was on a plot right next to the church, It was purchased by a couple who had retired from their jobs in the city for a quiet life in the country. within weeks they were complaining about the church bells, and there was the complaint about the hearse parking outside their gates during funerals i kid you not,
Mick C. 229
Plenty of business in London. Get rid of the poor by relocating them and some serious coin can be made off the money men who move in Charming
Jamie m 668
Tell em to stay in fecking London. In fact. . . . tell all of the city folk to just stay fecking put! lol city folk can't win can they ! If they try and get rid of the immigrants by sending to the countryside you don't like that , and if they themselves try and get away from the city's yous don't like that either haha. Squeeze over lads its only a small island and you've got to much room lol Like f**k we have... lol i bet you've got more room than London . Lads get used to it we live on an overpopulated island and there more on the way ! We might have more room than London, but we still haven't got enough properties for the people who were born round here, never mind the fuckers they want to ship down here from London.. If you ever go to London check out the trains at night in rush hour jam packed with people who don't live in London anymore scurrying out before it gets dark lol so if Londoners don't live in London anymore anyway you can just imagine the shite your in for : )
