whippet84 2
Alright anyone got any tips or ideas. I have been out on the lamp with my dog and he is striking the rabbits very soft. He has actualy caught them and when they touch his mouth he lets them go. Has happened the last few times we have been out.???? Quote Link to post
nottzhunter08 898
Take him out with an older dog works in my experience, maybe give him a doubled slip with an adult or let him watch another dog catching rabbits he should soon want it good luck Quote Link to post
whippet84 2
Been doing that he has seen and run double when they have been caught also have a dummy with a skin on it to see if that helped him Quote Link to post

rob284 1,682
give it time, its a bonus that its soft mouthed, switch the lamp off as soon as it grabs one, and dont switch it back on, this will teach the dog not to mess about and let go. Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,484
Use of a flirt pole might help. They are a good way to sharpen a dog up i agree. Get them on from pups.Gets them breathing aswell. I use a 10ft bamboo. 1 Quote Link to post

shaaark 10,787
As baw suggests, perhaps he's teething or maybe some small dental problem that you haven't spotted Quote Link to post
