i am a lamper but i do enjoy the odd days out with the ferrets

Lamping is the best for me tho, but just picked up so much permission where I can literally do anything so just got another terrier, a good air rifle and applying for my sgc.

used to do a lot of lamping when i was young and brave, and have always loved my ferretting, especially when you are lucky enough to have some open burrows instead of scrabbling in hedges and ditch bottoms. but my real pleasure is walking out with just the one dog at a time letting it hunt up, finding its own quarry and learning fieldcraft. no big bags, but my yearling bitch caught two rabbits and a pheasant this morning and that was a damned good couple of hours, well before most folk were evn awake

I use my lurcher for ferreting with and without nets, lamping, mooching, with hounds (gun pack) and she will also take her when im rough shooting.. tho she aint no lab! at the moment i just have the one dog, im currently looking for another pup to start bringing on.
