its like malt and kev says depends on your part of the coast how the fish react on the ebb or the flow ,and also whats around sand rocks kelp we have them all so we can fish high or low water there i said a peace :laugh::laugh::whistling:

had 2 hours today off the rocks me my lad and my mate ended up taking over 400 between us ,alot of happy folks on my eastate free fish :thumbs:this was the second catch brought home

ffs lol it hits you your hooked thats it we just had carp rods 1oz waight 4 feathers f***ing class last one of my little legs telling me this one is mine for the pike lol

correct malt if theres sand and kelp in the bays with deep water behind you should catch on both tides if the fish are around but you wont no till you try lol,when i was young i did all the foot work for years up and down the cliffs and i have had some great memeorys as well as fish ,but look at me now am f****d :D:icon_redface::D

I`m away in a few week for 3 days --- how`d you catch mackerel off the shore --are feathers any good and whats the best set up ?-------------its all new to me ....

I find the silver foil type feathers the most effective.. Just chuck them out on the spinning rod and reel them back in.. I fish off rocks and piers mostly for them.

I`ve been a dozen or so times that's all not counting the week when I went every night and could only cast out 8ft :laugh: ---I love it but I don't catch a lot :D

As the lads have said Stig, find a bit of deepish water off of rocks or a pier and silver foil type feathers are hard to beat.. Jerk the rod as you retrieve, ( sweep the rod back them wind up the slack)... Good luck mate, not going Bantham are you mate??? Lol

try silver shrimp, white feathers spinners if they like it they will take it .i used to get white electrical outer core and silver hooks slide it over the hook cut it about an inch past the bend then make in to a point shape had loads like that seagul feathers same its all trial and erra lol

Skegness way -----I`m at Lincoln antique fair mon tues mrs as booked a b n b at the coast for the weds and thurs ..its not rocky its all shore fishing ...
