BREAKING NEWS !!!!   RNLI called out to the Needles after two inept wannabe sailors tried to reach Cowes to enjoy brunch together...........

Glub glub! All went without a hitch. Turns out the sneaky b*****d "mate" of mine used to work for a powerboating team and actually knows a little more than he let on. I thought it was odd when he was

f****n hell. You might joke, but my mate suggested going to Cowes for a pint. when I asked how he would find Cowes on the IOW, he said "How hard can it be?"

Good luck but ive just finished reading this :icon_eek:

I think i'd be staying at home, you'll be on Real Rescues by Monday :D

Off topic but sea disaster related, chap was kayak fishing near the end of the pier here on Sunday evening, bagging up on mackerel and putting them in a net in the water to keep them fresh...he opened the dry compartment to get his phone out to ring home to say he'd be back soon, no sooner had he finished his call a seal grabbed the net and sent him flying over board, dragging his kayak some 20-30 yards from him before letting go. When he swam to the kayak it was full of water and he couldn't get back in so he drifted for an hour i think it was before someone saw him and he was rescued. The poor bugger is giving it up now!

I know i'm not your dad but be careful Walshie

I heard about that on the news earlier.

I know Jeff the fella who that is,he was very lucky someone saw him when they did and he had all the right safety gear but a freak accident happened and it went very wrong very quickly for him and he knows how lucky to still be here he is.

Aye, he's on a north east fishing forum and was on there recounting the story, said he has lurchers too so might be on here? Either way glad he came out unscathed, by all accounts his thick wet suit kept him right in the cold north sea

He's not on here but does have lurchers RT  ,a lucky fella who never thought he was ever in any danger as he was seen from the shore waving for help, i will add this fella swims in the sea all year round so knows about water coldness etc and still it troubled him in short time but that wet suit sure saved his life

We went sea kayaking in Anglesey this year. On the second day we went round Puffin island and there is a colony of seals that live there. I had one sitting right next to me for a while when it suddenly tried to jump up on to my kayak :D
