 F**king calm down, the lot of ye!!! I Did say " eg. ". I Also said I hadn't read the f**king book " At least thirty years ago ".

And, I wouldn't know London from my arsehole! Christ, I was snatching place names out of the air, trying to give a flavour of the f**king book!

F**k you, Gnash! Now, for your penitence for bullying me, I insist that you buy a copy. Lay back on the quality sun lounger that you doubtlessly posses. And Really F**king Enjoy this absolute gem of a book! :tongue2:

It's bound to hit all the right marks with you guys on here. This is the 'Pre Ban' shit that got into our genes and made us the people we are today. Drawn to native birds.

The true irony is that this book didn't take off like the usual " Poacher " books. Because it wasn't all about " Little Hugh " and " Infernal Clever " bitches. It's about a Bird Catcher!

F**k it. Grab a copy. Score. First person to come back to me, within a week, saying they feel they waisted their money on it? I'll f**king buy their copy off them. I'd love to read it again.

Seriously. This is the one to leave to ye Grandchildren thgrinning-smiley-003.gif

lol I think ill have to get him that book though as a sort of an apology

It's on Amazon. uk for eighteen quid. You won't get it for much under a score anywhere, these days. And it was Alfred T. Curtis.

Giving your bro' this book and having his wife read it to him would be ~ believe me ~ the greatest gift you could bestow.

Written in 1960, it yet relates Curtis' illegal bird catching activities. Bird catching only being made illegal in 1954, see how he'd have been posting, on here, of his " Pre Ban " hauls with the Clap Nets? :D

Best of all, it's all set around Essex / East London. It sounds like your brother will absolutely recognise the craic here. F**k me; He may even get an indirect mention!

Personally? What I wouldn't f**king give to be able to sit there, with your brother. Read him this book and question him on his own understanding and memories evoked by it! Another f**king book, right there! I guarantee ye! :icon_eek:

pete he'd like you I can tell ! hes a bit of a character . I'm not a bird man so I don't know if its what everyone does but, he even takes hes birds for a ride to the shops . He's also into hes gamefowl which hes also takes out with him for a ride in the car . He even takes hes birds to the pub with him , he's favourite line is asking a newbie to the pub can you watch my cock while I go to the toilet lol !
