Rescued a young starling from one of the neighbours cats last night ( she must have over 10 :censored: ), apart from having its tail missing and a bit shocked it's ok, wasn't sure if it was feeding itself or not so force fed it last night and when i got back in from my work this morning I see the wifes got him well trained like myself  eating out her hand :toast:

the wife met the golfer Graham Mcdowell at the open a couple of days ago so we've called him Mick, hopefully he'll survive and once the feathers grow back I'll release him

Brilliant! I wish I could ring him!

So happens, I was in town yesterday and found one, just like that, dead, on the pavement. So, Mick there sort of makes up for that one.

I checked the dead birds legs for rings. Not one of mine though.

Kittlerox,I hope you're not just feeding it mixed seed/corn,I rear a lot of different birds brought to my door each season and they need some dog or catfood out of a tin to thrive,a good mixed diet is imperative,WM

No mate thats just overspill from the finches I keep, I got a tin of felix for it, dug up some worms etc, I've reared a few starlings, blackys, crows etc before

this one never made it unfortunately

That's a bummer. Internal injuries?

Next time I have a cat in the cross hairs; I'll say Mike's name as I squeeze the trigger.

never quite got over the shock I don't think mate, apart from showing a bit promise when the wife was sorting him yesterday morning he was lethargic the rest of the time.

you do that Pete ;)
