Its too hot to do shit. . . . i'm . . . . . melting!

Well with only a few weeks (six) to the start of the season I've started to push the dogs a little more on our walks ( and myself for that matter). There well earned rest is coming to an end and Our ev

cant remember the last day i wasnt out wi dog, early morning, or last thing at night, 3 in the bag today, 3 yesterday

Funny one really the dogs need to start to be conditioned but it is to hot during the day. I been setting alarm for 3 in morning and doing a few hours road walking then. Gotta do what needs to be done It got me thinking after talking to my muka who plays rugby they started pre season 1 July ready for first game first few days in sept. training in 25+ degrees for two hours must be madness lol

Been there and done that.... ...................even the props managed it :laugh: .

fair play getting up so early

how do you think they train abroad

just walks up and down the lanes with mine, in this heat, no way am i risking them putting something out of the undergrowth and have no water available to submerge them in to cool them down. accidents like that are not accidents

Im just going for a 6mile cycle with my fella down the back roads right now..... no traffic, no theiving eyes and its nice and cool... Fingers crossed I dont hit a pothole as im not bringing as much as a torch with me

Get some lights on your bike and wear a reflective bib.. you will end out knocked over or dead.. Pot hole are the least of your worries. Its some barn pot driving home from the pub doing 60 odd "cause no body will be out at this time" weaving down the back lanes.. wont see you and it will end in tears for everyone..

I aint increased any training still to hot for me.. Still be 18 degrees 10.30pm

Ive walked and cycled these lanes day and night for years... Only about 10 houses over a 10mile labriynth of back roads that omly lead to bog and forestry.... Not a shortcut to anywhere... Only cars there at night are at the weekend young ones shagging...

If you want to walk dogs in this heat its a 4 o'clock in the morning job or 11 o'clock at night, even then last night at 11 it was still above 20. Hard job keeping everything cool never mind walking them in it not during the day anyway half 12 I was walking mine the other night because it was just too hot and anyone that runs dogs in this weather is not wired up right.

I should imagine it's the same as they work just avoid the hottest part of the day.

Mine wont be doing anything to much until its cooler, I don't see point in stressing dogs out trying to push them on after all its only middle of july :-/

It will be cooler soon enough!

And remember Humans have a different cooling system to dogs

Everyone to their own lads

Never much thought about this pre-season stuff till I came on here, dogs were/are kept more or less the same with only sunny day 'basking' and a swim or two thrown in... Now this years thrown a few things out of kilter with the heat but worst of all is my age and new bad back!

I wouldn't mind but a week or two ago, me an the mutt had been flying, on my new bike an never felt so good...!

A bit of a bugger!

But lets face it, judging by your routines your dogs should be well on the way to real fitness once the season is well underway. ;)

This is it mate.. Folk hammer bits early doors or claim mixys rattled through but they just piss and moan instead of knocking more doors down..

This year I would be intrested how many miles you clock up... Its got to be some crazy figure..

Got a few days permission hunting lined up for next couple of week..

Got a farm I ask at every year.. Always says no but I think I am wearing him down 5 years on

Last year he said "no he has someone".. I telt him "he was not doing a very good job" , he laughted and said " I was right about that ... But no!"

See what his crack this year :hmm::laugh:
