R.A.W 1,987
Well with only a few weeks (six) to the start of the season I've started to push the dogs a little more on our walks ( and myself for that matter). There well earned rest is coming to an end and Our evening jaunts are becoming a more serious affair with increased pace and distance. I'm having to stay close to water because of the heat and the river beds are doing the dogs feet a world of good. Anyone else made a start yet? I've Been jogging a few times and I've been wetting the dogs done before we set off which I find helps to keep them a little cooler as we go around. The ground is a too hard for me at the moment to ask them to do any sprinting as such but were still a few weeks off that anyway. I'd been interested to hear every ones views and opinions atb RAW 2 Quote Link to post

paulsmithy83 567
Funny one really the dogs need to start to be conditioned but it is to hot during the day. I been setting alarm for 3 in morning and doing a few hours road walking then. Gotta do what needs to be done It got me thinking after talking to my muka who plays rugby they started pre season 1 July ready for first game first few days in sept. training in 25+ degrees for two hours must be madness lol 2 Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
My dogs haven't been doing much at all they get an evening walk but it's far too hot and I live in an area where there's too many things sitting out in the hay fields one unitetional run could f**k the dogs so I keep them leashed up anyway. R.A.W 1,987
I'm fortunate there's plenty of shaded paths around by me. I do my best not to let mine run rabbits this time of year not just because of the heat but because the ground is so hard Quote Link to post
