sandymere 8,263
If the dog is losing electrolytes ie vomiting etc to the extent it needs replacement it likely needs a vet. If its hot it needs cooling down, if its thirsty give it some water, beware hot dogs will drink excessively so restrict oral fluids but use water to cool the body. Keep in mind dogs don't don't lose electrolytes in sweat like humans and horses. 5 Quote Link to post
cocker 2,654
clean fresh water is best but if you want electrolytes here you go 1 litre bottle of cheap still spring water 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 7 Tablespoons sugar Edited July 18, 2013 by cocker Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
If I'm planning a hard night running I always take a bottle of water in the car with 2 teaspoons salt and 2 teaspoons sugar dissolved in it and offer it my bitch when we get back to the motor. May do nothing, I don't know. Can't do any harm though. Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
On the hardest nights of the season my dogs have never even taken a sip of water... I have even attempted to give them fluids but they dont want it.. Early season when its warm they will drink (September) but come the cold dark nights the hardly drink at all.. Quote Link to post
