and if you use a dummy with smell of a fox or rat? You can even place inside the sensor that can measure the power of a dog bite, also measure the speed at which a dog moves in a burrow. These two parameters can determined the winner.

Use a taxidermied fox mask and put it in the cage barred off from the terrier in the tunnel, bit of wet scent and bobs your uncle!

At least those old ladies that enter their dogs into the Working class can now actually say their Terriers are entered to fox! lol

Nice and same to you gonetoearth!
Sorry, but i didn't think that here is so bad about trials!!! You don't want to understand that this is no more a matter of one country, and I have nothing against your nation or any other gonetoearth, so don't become paranoid!
Best test for your dog is a hunting and the real conditions but trials (especially when you go abroad with your dog ) will prove the work of your dog, chance to get a diploma, exchange experience and earn some money (eg to support the club) and have a good time in the off-season.
I hope and really wish one day you will feel more comfortable and free about trials! atb
