Very impressive there what’s the weight on the bird looks a killer on the arm?

There is actually 3 different bird there, the close up on my fist is a first year female flying at 10lb 4oz, and the others are of a 7 year old female who flys best at 9lb 14oz and there is a 4yr old male who flys at 7lb 8 oz. This year we have taken on a male just over a year old and he is responding well to lure work at 6lb 14oz so will be a good bit over 7lb come winter.

Stunning pics mate, fantastic birds

ive got someone coming out with me for the day next season to take a few snaps for a competition, hes a member of the shafton camera club i think he said, so in return i should get some quality snaps for you lads.

How did your season go regarding hare numbers? My old mentors son goes out with the bloke who bred his goshawk and he flies a male golden and he said that they struggled this season, just couldnt seem to find any hares.

We far from struggle with hare numbers, they were thin in some places but bouncing in others. We have thousands of acres to fly on so we don't visit the same place twice in a month or so that way they don't get shy of the bells or anything like that. the 4 yr old male did 114 kills on his own 101 of which were hares. the young female didn't do anything which is common in a young eagle, and the older female had 42 kills 19 of which were hares, she is mainly used for bigger game.
