mickeyfn19 16
hi, normally before i go out i will quickly check my zero. then i will stick the gun in the bag and drive to where ever im shooting. today my zero was perfect when i left and then when i shot something it hit the chest instead of the head. how easy is it to knock a gun out of zero. could the gun bag be doing it as the scope is quite tight when it is all zipped up. The one 8,530
I always dread going over a speed bump going to my permissions and have the guns in there covers lying on my jackets on the back seat Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
try get as much padding as you can to minimise shocks and bangs to the scope. I think a speedbump could be enough to knock it. Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Was it not just a flyer? Everyone gets them from time to time with a dodgy pellet 2 Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Depends on the scope! My MK4 Leupold stayed absolutely drop-dead-spot on for over a year and it's got finger adjustable dial in BDC turrets (no caps) then I knocked it off a low loader on the pig farm! I have to zero it every time I use it now Also depends on the gun My Hawke HD (with covered Turrets) stays spot on, but after I knocked the silencer against the fence between the cemetery and paddock (only a tiny brush type knock) sent the barrel to one side. Andy_c 210
I always open a tin off pellets and go though them see if any are dodgy then wing the shite ones I know it may seem a waste but It gets rid of the crap ones just a thought atb Andy Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
im fairly sure they werent fyers as both rabbits should of been headshots but one was heart and lung and the other was neck. i think you might be right phantom. my scope has had a shotgun dropped on it. i didnt think anything of it but i could be the scope oh well the scopes rubber covers and grips have all come away anyway. fyi the scope is a nikko sterling air king gold crown 3-12x42 aoir. topshot26 30
i would suggest getting a hard case because i had the same problem with my soft case it going out of zero and when i had the hard case spot on all the time you can get a good quality one on ronnie sunshines for £40 take a look : http://www.ronniesunshines.com/shooting-equipment-1/gun-accessories/slips-cases/egg-foam-rifle-hard-case.html Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
Slightly off topic but as knocks in transport was mentioned I now transport my guns on the back seat. I used to put them in the boot until I had to do an emergency stop which ended with a toolbox on the scope and the zero way out. Now I put the bag on the seat and pop the seatbelts round it/them so they can't go anywhere. The only time they go in the boot now is if I've got a carfull of would be rabbit bashers. Fat ones ? mickeyfn19 16
i actually adapted a shotgun hardcase so my gun would fit but the adjusting double d buckle thing is super weak and im not sure if the hardcase was knocking me out of zero aswell because of the pressure on the gun. AR177 588
did you under estimate the range and the pellet naturally dropped low? Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
possibly however i must of got it about 10 yards out, although i am a bit rusty as i have been using a range finder. but the pellet also hit i little to the right when there was no wind. Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
I was a going to start a topic like this, I seem to have to re zero my s200 every time I go to shoot, a few clicks here and there and it's back on zero, sounds like its all the same Quote Link to post
