Lab 10,979
Test on what?Ok it wasnt a test on getting to places........... ..What they done was tried to see if a dog knew when its owner was coming home...........set up cctv and watched the dogs behaviour. They never knew when there owner was coming home as some folk think they do......just happened to be a coincidence sometimes. Not much difference then I seen a test on when cheese melts, f**k all to do with that either the dog I'm talking about jumps in, permission I'm talking about is 45 mins away. He stands for first 10 mins till I get fed up of him panting in my ear lays down and gets back up just before we are there whether he recognizes a bump on the road, engine tone, f**k knows but he knows. I think thats smell mate. I can drive to any beach, one that ive not even been to and the dogs start to stand up and sniff, heads out the window job. They can tell all sorts of stuff. Like when i'm in and out my house all day they just lie there....but if i come out about 6ish with a kettle in my hand they know its feed time and walk. They all know the difference between a gun and a stick as well...........I think there a bit cleverer than folk give them credit for. I dont however think there lying in the motor counting the f***ing corners till they get too your permission, who do you think your dogs are..fecking Liam Neeson......... Bit different the smell of the sea, we can even smell that and we are shite. No he ain't counting corners lol, they say dogs have no track of time so who knows. He's a smart cookie though. When out a walk you have to walk in a big circle, come home a different way or the b*****d starts dragging his feet lol.

j1985 1,984
Anyone else's dogs or dog know when someone they like is coming up the drive or is just about to knock at the door ? My old retriever as a kid was great, if one of my mates or my old man was coming home she'd be at the door wagging her tail then 5 mins later they'd knock or come in. And it wasn't as if they were opening a gate etc as when people she didn't know came to the door she'd just stay put...never had a dog like it since!
