a bullx grey x salukix grey , would be a( better) lurcher, than he's ever bred , lots of lads use this type xs and are happy with them

Such prejudice usually starts when someone sees one or two badly trained or below par examples of a breed or type. They then base their opinion on that and look no further: hardly an broadly informed

I have seen some realy nice bull blooded lurchers, and the best of these also had Saluki blood in them.. They looked to be trainable enough to me...

I'd like to send him the pic I have of my half x bull/grey bitch led down with pheasant chicks around her not batting an eye lid. This lurcher game attracts some real funny people at times.all the best

wont be any use you got no saluki in there :D

Lol suppose not but he's obviously under the impression his dogs are the last of the "old poaching" dogs. Unfortunately a lot of us want more from our dogs than 1 or 2 bunnies a night or the odd easy hare.

Saw a saluki/bull/grey on the lamp last season.

It was a fantastic dog. Straight back when the lamp was off. Worked off the slip. Very well mannered.

The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Was it any goog in a rearing pen though Gaz?

Lol had a good giggle at that one !!

My mate has two bull crosses a whippet and a terrier all who take their quarry with guts yet they are relaxed around sheep lambs chickens ferrets and cats?? Wat a strange statement he has made is it not how you rear them up and train/socialise them??

However, there's no smoke without fire, and I think that certain types of dog attract people for the wrong reasons. Education is everything, in both humans and dogs.

I wouldn't fret or worry about what is only a sales pitch... Mr Burrell sell's pups, he doesn't really work dogs. It ain't like he works the arse off 'em and when he breeds, only for himself, he's selling off the surplus... No, he's got a website dedicated to educate you in what real lurchers, his lurchers, really are...(?) It's all about the sale and any other type is always gonna be inferior...!

Thing is, each and every time I read or hear about his dogs I get to thinking that I don't know anyone who has one, or worked one enough and put it in print from an unbiased perspective?

I'd love to see for myself if they have any of the characteristics they are supposed to have? I don't doubt for a minute they are decent enough lurchers, so one day I'd like to give one a go, get a pup on and see what its all about, I doubt i'll find some revelation, which wouldn't be a problem, as thats what i'd be expecting anyway, just a decent knock about dog but then I doubt I'd be sold one anyway..!!
