Hope the men in qestion get a full military burial though the died in pursuit of The beret and served this nation RIP

This again proves the point that a TA soldier is miles apart from a full time soldier ... Taking on board plenty of fluids is basics when you are on an arduous rout march and something that is drilled

They were on selection for the TA SAS.   http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-23311651   I did wonder why the f**k they didn't just stop and knock up some impromptu shelter when they felt heat strok

dont really think this a thread for jokes of any kind......... :icon_eek::thumbdown:

RIP the men who died......... :(

Nobody is joking about the lads that died or fell ill. Not sure what harm a few ex squaddies having a crack about their service is doing? It's sort of the British way I thought.

its definitely the military way

. Is right palo and famous for it. Twisted humour

I remember patrolling down a wooded hill in Kosovo when we came under contact ... As we took cover one of the lads tripped and went head overs tits down the hill ... Arms and legs flying all over the place his kit coming apart off him and being scattered all over the hill until he ended up in a shit pit full of pig muck ... Fukc me we were all laughing so much that we couldn't return fire for about 2 minuets lol ..........

Kept dogs and hunted all through my army career mate .....

If you don't mind me asking Sock, how? I always thought that a career as a soldier would leave you with no way of keeping dogs unless you had a family to look after them for you?

That's correct mate ... As a junior rank you couldn't keep a dog if you were living in single accommodation .. When you get to the ranks of senior nco you can keep a dog in themes accommodation ... However I was married before joining the army so lived in married quarters ... When I was away on exercise or courses or tours then the missus, kids, parents hunting mates looked after the dogs and ferrets ........

Fair doos, I seriously considered Sandhurst when leaving Uni but thought it would mean having to pretty much give up any dreams of living a reasonable hunting life for at least 10-15 years. What you said then made me wonder if I had made the right choice.
