Hope the men in qestion get a full military burial though the died in pursuit of The beret and served this nation RIP

This again proves the point that a TA soldier is miles apart from a full time soldier ... Taking on board plenty of fluids is basics when you are on an arduous rout march and something that is drilled

They were on selection for the TA SAS.   http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-23311651   I did wonder why the f**k they didn't just stop and knock up some impromptu shelter when they felt heat strok

Problem with this country is you don't get to acclimatise with the hot weather. If you head off to the dessert then you are in it all day every day and start to get used to it.

Got to agree with socks....

Ive worked with TA in afghan, cyprus and on training exercises all over....

They do seem to lack a certain something that 'most' regular serving guys have.....

We get literally punished daily for fitness.....and educated on our environment......and how to deal with it

You can still have any full time service person apply who has as little if not less training education than a TA personal for all we know some of the six may have had service history prior to become TA ,

Let see the full facts

full time squaddies have been known to train for years prior to selection and have still failed. I have known RAF officers that could pass the fitness elements but failed the weapons training element, did you know that Lewis Collins was a TA para  he went down like a bag of spuds when he mouthed off one night at a real one :laugh:
. So was the BIG YIN 4 PARA GLASGOW

dont really think this a thread for jokes of any kind......... :icon_eek::thumbdown:

RIP the men who died......... :(

Nobody is joking about the lads that died or fell ill. Not sure what harm a few ex squaddies having a crack about their service is doing? It's sort of the British way I thought.

Yeah and this is a fine time and place. Never had a crack about old work stories at a wake L1? I'm quite sure this is nothing like a wake and just a few chaps on the net discussing recent events, passing their respects and having a crack. Nobody victimised or made fun of to my reckoning. I know you have a close mate that gave his life in service but no way has anybody dissrespected any serviceman.
