Outlaw Pete 2,224
Or, I sincerely hope so! Isn't that just f**king gorgeous??? Dear little thing! I've been watching Dad, scuttling about with mouthfuls of worms, for a few days now. Idly wondered where he had the brood hidden. But, I was rather resigned to them getting predated. Well, this little sweetheart's made it out of the nest, look. Screamed its little head off, when I closed my hand around it. Instinctively thought it was about to be eaten. Poor soul. Mum and Dad were up in the hedge. 'Pipping' their concern. Few minutes later, this little beauty was scurrying back into the shelter of the hedge. Probably believing it had just escaped from the most inept predator out here. It'll absolutely make my day to find this one again, further down the line. Unbelievably, the first baby blackbird I've ringed! They normally get eaten out of the nest as soon as they're fat as butter
