Bsa Lightning ?

hey guys,

looking at a new air rifle and getting a lot of recommendations towards the HW series, but what do people think about the BSA Lightning as it is in the same price range and has similarly good comments on other sites ?

bsa might be the same price but hw are a lot better guns .If the bsa is working correctly and cheap then it is ok to shoot rabbits ,but if it goes wrong .hw is the gun to buy easy ,even if it cost more better build, better trigger and easy to strip down and repair ,or tune.

When it comes to springers look to Weihrauch's nothing compares really to a well tuned one these days.

 

Sadly BSA don't turn out quality rifles like they used to and even when they did the Lightning range was nothing to shout about.

 

 

PCP's are a different story altogether though and when it comes to them your spoilt for choice.

the hw99s and hw95k are your best bet if you thought about a lightning.....

Best advice I can give is go try them mate......

 

Everyone including myself has their own "favourites" so to speak.

Ok so on the HW range the build quality is superb and they're easily tuned and great to shoot, but they're heavy bits of kit compared to the Lightning.

 

The Lightning is an under rated rifle and can shoot well if you do your part.

 

So like I said, get down to your local and try them out for size, feel, weight & if possible get a few pellets down the range, then and only then will you know the right one to buy

 

You might want to try an Air Arms TX200, again, try one at the local, then you can get a decent secondhand one for the same budget as the HW/Lightning range
