The one 8,506
Why no re new it which is easier than starting from scratch that gives you five years to think if you really want to keep it Quote Link to post
airbourne 128
just re-new it you never no if you might need it in the future, never say never I gave my firearms ticket up a year later re-applied for it, 2 months wasted waiting for it , at the end of the day its only a few quid. Deker 3,478
Unless you are convinced you don't have a use for a while then renew it. Just the same, why should you have a problem if you let it go and re-apply in years to come. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
I think its harder to get a grant than a renewel as you have to go through the whole vetting process again and any issues you might have ahd the 1st time around will get thrown up again. I'd agree with those who say keep it. One good thing about a SGC is no need to prove good reason so you can just keep it in a drawer for whenever you might resume shooting. Quote Link to post

That's what should happen at renewal, in effect you start again, but simply from the position you already have a SGC. If you had any issues previously they have already been resolved. Any NEW application for a SGC asks if you have previously held one, so they simply check records and should only be interested in anything that happened recently. There should be NOTHING different about a renewal to a Grant, except you already hold a SGC. 1 Quote Link to post
