Checked my (Fully licensed for my own trained and qualified use ~ In case of new comers) Trap Cage, earlier. Saw I had something but couldn't for the life of me make out what it was.

Went out to fetch it and saw it was a robin. I could almost have said 'what was left of this robin'! God, what a state the poor little mite was in!

Tail was so abraded, it was more of half a tail. Obviously gone for the second brood somewhere and was now working itself to a frazzle to feed them.

And this was a Retrap. One I'd caught earlier and had ringed. (Reaches for my Ringers Log Book) ..... 23-7-12!!! Year ago, to the month!

And she was a 'mature' bird, of indeterminable age then! Wow! I may just have 'Grabbed A Gran'! :icon_eek:

Well, like I say, this mature little lady wasn't exactly having the best of 'hair days'.

And we are taught and encouraged to have a little bit of discretion in what we publish, in forums and such. We Ringers have our 'Anti's' too, you know

So, yeah. Here's my customary shot from today:

See what I just did, there? 8)

Even some of my birds are looking like they've reared and some are going again so god knows what there'll end up like :icon_redface: but it's up to them and i'd rather they bred than stayed stressed out through not breeding as it's a strong old urge for sure  .Bet's it's good to see one you've met before :boogy: and i'm sure you've almost built relationships with one or two over the years and a great way of looking deeper into the birds of our lands,i do also wish the little robin well :victory:
