wirral countryman 2,110
DPB,you're getting totally outdated advice on here my friend, any ban involving the rspca etc is a total one involving you or anyone within your place of residence, the animal rights groups put this in place a little time ago to block exactly whats being advised, years ago lots of folk said the dogs are the wives, etc, but now anyone caught with you lamping, dogging, etc will be prosecuted for aiding and abetting, this is not supposition but "FACT".there have been many done in my area for exactly that, ask the likes of D.F.K and friends on here, lifetime ban on any animal and can't appeal for 10yrs,you're very lucky that the copper never called out the rspca again or it would of been contempt of court and back to the mags, read the wording on your ban and take proper advice, not listen to lads off here, who with the best intention are giving outdated advice, you're very lucky to still have the dogs at your brothers and 12 months will pass quickly,my advice is break any new dogs after the ban to cats as most farmer's keep them and its the quickest way to lose permission if you get any,I hope you listen to this and are back out hunting in 12 months without any hassle, remember you are now on the authorities radar so watch everything you do,WM 4 Quote Link to post

Dwayne Hurrell 6
My cousins cat was killed by 2 dogs and he went to the police and they said theres nothing they can do cause cats are classed as vermin apparently like rabbits! Quote Link to post
Matt 160
My cousins cat was killed by 2 dogs and he went to the police and they said theres nothing they can do cause cats are classed as vermin apparently like rabbits! Utter rubbish. Cats are property, and even though their owners cannot be held liable for their actions (unlike dogs) they remain private property. Feral cats can be killed; but not by dogs, and you have to be able to prove that you've taken 'reasonable measures' to make sure they are actually feral and not just wandering pets. There must be more to this case than meets the eye I can't see anyone getting a ban on keeping dogs for one 'accident'. Quote Link to post
