How I Used To Do It

Well it's been 40 years since I decoyed pigeon and it would be interesting to know if much has changed. This is how I used to do it.

 

Find a flight line and set up a hide. Walk 30 paces into the field and face the wind. Walk one pace into it and place your first decoy. Set all of the others out in random fashion behind the first. The pigeon will fly over the decoys and land right in your killing zone!

 

If things get quiet try pouring yourself a coffee; they will flood in!

Uncanny how they know when you pour yourself a coffee though isn't? :-)

Nothing changed here either though its funny when you start pouring the coffee they start coming in

I remember once when nothing had come in for ages and we looked out at the decoys to see a fox walking around between them!

 

................Clearly we weren't that observant in those days!
