zerofen,anyone know about it.

Recommended Posts

Hoping people here may have info on ZEROFEN.Its a worm dose used for pigs and sheep and a mate of mine uses it for his pack of beagles. He uses 5 ml for 10 kg of weight. He says its very effective for the treatment of all worm parasites and has had no side effects from it.I have seen his dogs and to be honest they are in super condition. If anyone here is aware of this product and could enlighten me to any ill effects that may occur I would be most grateful.I looked it up on the net but to be honest I couldnt get the gist of most of it and it only reffered to the use of zerofem on pigs and sheep. Thanks again,JIGSAW.

Not much help this jigsaw, sorry mate, but the fella i got my whippet pup off yesterday, has a pack of fox hounds and also beagles. He said he uses IVOMAC, an injection for simular beasts, i.e, cattle ect.

He said he only needs to do it once a year, kills all worms and fleas, mange, ect ect, deadly stuff.

He did say though, apparently, it can cause liver cancer if used too much and too often. :icon_eek:

ZEROFEN is a fenbendazole drench used as a wormer only, fenbendazole is the active ingredient.....of this wormer you also get oxfenbendazole triclabendazole, benzimidazole, etc anything ending in azole is classed as a white drench..........

ivomec or ivomec super as it's known is a subcutanius based injection it does mites worms lungworms warbles, and ADULT liver fluke only.

however it is not the adult liverfluke that does the damage to the liver it the early immature fluke that do the damage on their migration.

:icon_eek: this active formula is ivermection. it is used at a rate of 1ml/50kg bodyweight in cattle.

however i've heard of fellas using it in greyhound's at a rate of .5ml in a greyhound with great effect. as for liver damage i'm not sure,

but if precaution is to be taken and you only want a wormer then zerofen would be the way forward.

i'm not recomending any of these as they are not licenced to be used on these animals. and have not been tested as such.

hope this is of some help to you all....
